IN THIS LESSON

Paul gives a greeting to Titus

Paul calls Titus his true son of the faith. He reminds Titus that he was left in Crete to appoint elders in every city from men who are blameless and of good standing for Bishops.

Paul goes on to tell how these Bishops should behave. When you read this first chapter, you can see clearly that our behaver is important when we are Christians. It is false teachers that tell you that it doesn’t matter what you do.

Remember the scripture that tells us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling? Philippians 2:12

We must act in a Godly manner; we are told to walk in the love of Christ. John 2:6: We should always walk in obedience to Christ's commands, including walking in love.  Also, Colossians 3:14: We are called to clothe ourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. John 13:34: "Walk in love, as Christ loved us".

You see how we behave is very important, Jesus loved us enough to die for us, we need to love Jesus enough to live for Him as He has asked us to do. Finally Titus 1:16 ends this chapter with this statement from Paul: They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

Please read and study Titus chapter one and be ready for chapter 2.
