WELCOME TO COFFEE WITH GOD

THE BOOK OF 1 JOHN 1:1-10 

I love John’s books; he walked with Jesus through His whole time with Jesus as Lord seeking to bring people to know God. John felt he was Jesus’ favorite apostle, and he had a close relationship with Jesus. He was sitting beside Jesus at the last supper and ask the Lord who was the one who would betray Him (John 21:20). There was definitely a closeness between Jesus and John. John was the last living apostle who wrote the book of Revelation. John is also called the LOVE APOSTLE, as he spoke of love so much in his writings.  

John writes in the first 4 verses explaining his purpose is to bring people to know God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son, so those who believe will fellowship together the joy of Salvation. John calls Jesus the “Word of Life”, Jesus’ life was manifested, and John had seen and heard Jesus with his own eyes and ears, he is declaring this truth to us through his writings.  

Then John goes on in verses 5 through 7 explaining this message he is telling us. The message which Jesus has given His apostles is that they have heard from Him, and they are declaring it to the world, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If people say that they have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, they lie and do not practice the truth. But if they walk in the light as He is in the light, they have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses them from all sin. 

Then John gets bold and states, in verses 8 through 10, If people say they have no sin, they deceive themselves, and the truth (Jesus) is not in them. If they confess their sin, Jesus is faithful and just to forgive them their sin and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. However, if they say that they have not sinned, they make Jesus a liar, and His word is not in them. John does not mince words when it comes to believing in Jesus or not. If you believe in Jesus, then you must repent of your sins and follow Him in truth.  

1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.  

No matter what you have done, Jesus will forgive you if you admit you have sinned against God and then change your direction from sinner to FORGIVEN! If you realize what Jesus did for you, you will love Him above this world and follow Him the rest of your life. This is Salvation. Study the Bible and learn the will of God for you. 

THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION IS FOR ALL

Romans 10:9-10 ESV because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

I pray everyone who reads this will seek to know God in the deep and wonderful way of Salvation, all who will accept Jesus as their Savior will receive Salvation and your name will be in the BOOK OF LIFE. Remember that accepting Jesus as Savior means repentance and change in your life!
